Alfred Sargent, together with his sons Frank and Harry, set up their shoe making company in 1899. Using the traditional shoe making techniques for more than 100 years, Alfred Sargent is a well known English shoe brand worldwide.
Situated in the Rushden, Northamptonshire, the heart of the English shoemaking region Alfred Sargent have occupied the same factory since 1915. It was the first single story factory built in Rushden and also the first to have electricity, a huge improvement from the old gas lighting of the era.
Since the 1960’s the fourth generation of Sargents, Paul and Andrew have been working in the business. Today, the best of English shoe making is recognized all over the world and as a result the demand for English shoes made in the traditional manner with goodyear welted soles is at a high.
Their recently introduced Exclusive Collection has quickly become a popular choice. Many of the old traditions of finishing that Alfred first used in the early 1900’s have been rediscovered and a modern twist added to reflect today’s style and quality demands of the discerning customer.
